Ariel Baez
Ariel was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico in 1999, into a family that instilled in him a deep love for the art of storytelling. With a mother who is a theater director and writer and a father who is a musician, Ariel grew up surrounded by creativity and a respect for the arts that continues to shape his work today.
His career in photography and cinematography began in Puerto Rico at Altitude Trampoline Parks, where a short video he created caught the attention of an executive and opened the door to professional opportunities. While still living on the island Ariel directed his first short film, “Arte” (Art), worked as cinematographer on three additional short films (including the award-winning ¿Te Llegó?), and collaborated on multiple productions across Puerto Rico.
After Hurricane María devastated the island, Ariel relocated to Chicago, Illinois to continue his studies. At Flashpoint Chicago, a campus of Columbia College Hollywood, he wrote and directed two short films and contributed to a number of student productions, all while laying the groundwork for his own production studio.
Today, Ariel serves as the videographer and editor at the U.S. corporate headquarters for ALDI, where he was one of the very first members of Creative Quarter, the company’s pioneering in-house creative studio. There, he helped establish the video production arm of the team and continues to produce content for ALDI for teams across the company alongside a talented production and management team. To date, Ariel has filmed, edited, or produced more than 30 videos for ALDI, reaching millions of viewers across the United States.
Experience, a keen eye for detail, and an unstoppable passion for storytelling define Ariel’s work. His journey from Puerto Rico to Chicago reflects not only his adaptability but also his relentless commitment to telling stories that connect and inspire.
