Ariel Baez

Ariel was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico in 1999, into a family that taught him to love the art of storytelling. Ariel is a director, writer and cinematographer that has been telling stories from a young age and has a passion for the arts.  

His mother, a theater director and writer and his father, a musician, passed on their passion and respect for the arts. Ariel’s career in photography and cinematography started in Puerto Rico at Altitude Trampoline Parks when he caught the attention of an executive for the parks after he saw a short video Ariel did while on a visit to the park. While in Puerto Rico Ariel directed his first short film, “Art”, was cinematographer on 3 short films, one of which is an award winning short (“Te llego?”) and worked on multiple productions on the island. All this before finishing high school. After an catastrophic Hurricane impacted Puerto Rico Ariel continued his studies in Chicago Illinois where he now resides. In the short time he has been in Chicago, Ariel, has been able to write and direct two short films and work on 5+ student film productions while studying at Flashpoint Chicago a campus of Columbia College Hollywood. He is also working on his own production studio that will be based in Chicago.

Currently he is on staff at the US corporate headquarters for ALDI where he is one of the first members of an internal creative team that focuses on photography, Video productions and creative account management within the company. This team is called Creative Quarter and it’s the first of it’s kind within the international ALDI brand. He was is one of the key members in developing the video production arm of Creative Quarter and is currently producing content for their official YouTube channel alongside an amazing production and management team. To this day within ALDI Ariel has produced, edited or filmed 15+ videos that have reached millions of people all across the United States.

Experience, an eye for detail, a vivid passion for film and a love for stories are just some of the ways Ariel’s work stands out. Ariel’s ability to adapt and thrive even in a place he would’ve never have dreamt of being is clear indicator that his passion for storytelling is unstoppable.
